Recital during the Uitmarkt in Amsterdam on the organs of the Orgelpark in Amsterdam:
CANTO OSTINATO by Simeon ten Holt, the version for organ solo adapted by Aart Bergwerff. Also performing is Kadir Sonuk, Dervish dance.
This 30 minute recital with dance is part of the performance called Canto Ostinato - East meets West with which Aart Bergwerff en Kadir Sonuk are currently touring Europe and Scandinavia. They are participating in organ festivals in Malmö, Ostfriesland, Toulouse and Copenhagen, in part in cooperation with the European Organ Festival Connecting Arts.
The recital at the Amsterdam Uitmarkt marks the start of the new concert season 2012-2013 during which Aart Bergwerff will be performing three times at top locations in Amsterdam. On Friday 5th October Aart Bergwerff will again be playing the CANTO OSTINATO on the organs at the Amsterdam Orgelpark, but this time together with the pianists Jeroen and Sandra van Veen.
Further, on Saturday 19 January 2013 there will be another concert at the Orgelpark in Amsterdam. Aart Bergwerff will be teaming up with Jaap Drupsteen, graphic artist, in a programme for organ and video art. This concert will see the world premiere of the new composition Around by Geert van Keulen, for organ, tape and motion graphics.
The highlight of the Amsterdam performances in the coming season will be the concert for the 90th birthday of Simeon ten Holt in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, on Tuesday 22 January 2013. Upon invitation from the Concertgebouw, Aart Bergwerff will give a performance of ten Holt's Canto Ostinato together with the pianists Jeroen en Sandra van Veen, Marcel en Elizabeth Bergmann: The Maarschalkerweerd organ together with 4 grand pianos!
